CMB While there are plenty of other reasons to appreciate this album, one would be hard-pressed to find a more refined and poignantly wistful piece of songwriting anywhere than "When It's True", a centerpiece track with feel and depth that borders on the profound. Many an artist across the singer/songwriter genre (and otherwise) could span entire careers without ever penning a gem of such merit. Outstanding. Favorite track: When It's True.

At times things go wrong to scars you'll belong from all the things that were just too strong you hold together then come undone You keep all you've lost and carry the cost along with all that you can't shake off and what you find in between what's lost Everything's a wave to break holding in what you can't take when you've lost the will to make love's only always awake You leave something behind beautiful and blind to all the things that we failed to try another morning, the same old light

Stay on Fire 04:04
If I can't feel you, you start bleeding out loud and if I've gone running, you make sure that I'm found Sometimes you don't live through the things you survive somehow you just learn to stay on fire If I start falling, you keep moving the ground and if I stop breathing, you fill my air with sound Sometimes you don't live through the things you survive somehow you just learn to stay on fire And when you've been beaten just know I'll never bow cos you only lose everything once in a while Sometimes you don't through the things you survive somehow you just learn to stay on fire
4.
Living is breaking easier now our time has passed leaving a trail of every precious thing all that didn't last I know you tried to tell me, but your words were just too loud I guess I wasn't ready for what I couldn't live without I know that things need getting better and aren't sorted out if I can move your never either way I can wait around I know you tried to tell me, but your words were just too loud I guess I wasn't ready for what I couldn't live without There's no ever knowing why we had to fall but I'm just tired of blaming us when we can't see at all I know you tried to tell me, but your words were just too loud I guess I wasn't ready for what I couldn't live without
5.
I'm going blind, wasn't ready all that killed time, that I buried comes back alive, haunting steady it's so heavy, when it's true I hope you don't mind, kinda fading don't feel obliged, to keep staying the things to untie, will start fraying gray keeps shading, when it's true As sunrises die, hard to face it when lightning was mine, I misplaced it so if there's more time, let's not waste it we can taste it, when it's true
6.
Which only life is the one you'd leave behind did you decide to just live it in your mind Let's pretend that you never stop to think about it you're heaven ends only when you let it go This passing light is the sum of you alone try as you might it's yours but not to own Let's pretend that you never stop to think about it you're heaven ends only when you let it go
7.
Better Off 03:41
Echoes and voices changing the choices you'd make anyway those were the chances all the last dances you let walk away With everything that you gain there's a loss so don't think you'd be that much better off Real or imagined it's hard to fathom living different days all that you dreamed of would your we be us kind of hard to say With everything that you gain there's a loss so don't think you'd be that much better off Your life is a private screening each night and day your lines might change, but the meaning still stays the same You'll still be needing death and believing things might break your way can't stop believing you'd keep receiving heartbeats that can't stay With everything that you gain there's a loss so don't think you'd be that much better off
8.
You trade on your love cos you know you're nearing the end you're taking the sun cos you might not be here again the low tide is done revealing your skeletons your mind's out of guns your heartbeat pretends You blame all you've done on someone that only you became you died on the run cos you couldn't live on where you stayed your prayer's never won and your thoughts leave a stain Don't have to break to anymore Don't have to break to anymore
9.
There's no real easy way you can say this no making sense of it all it's never leaving this weight of wishes hangs restlessly on your wall But it's alright, we'll find it a way through all the wreckage by starlight, we just might make it back to the sunrise Are you the colder that you imagined your yesterday's would have called a little older your time is fragile enough to break when you fall But it's alright, we'll find it a way through all the wreckage by starlight, we just might make it back to the sunrise If I could you know I'd explain how to keep counting todays But it's alright, we'll find it a way through all the wreckage by starlight, we just might make it back to the sunrise
10.
Seeing the years on my hands as I try to hold back the sun, slips away returning to clear like a tide you know that things will come undone, anyway So if you have a chance to keep today with all its gold and all its rain and if you hold a glance too long just say all is well and all is pain Walking for miles with the freight of your loss and the things that you gained on your back, all the way So if you have a chance to keep today with all its gold and all its rain and if you hold a glance too long just say all is well and all is pain
11.
I saw all of myself in the space you left behind that used to overflow with a heart's river run dry Yeah I'm not your hero but I can't be your ghost in your time I've borrowed I lost you the most I blew all of my chances on things that should never be I saw it all glances but thought there's nothing here to see Yeah I'm not your hero but I can't be your ghost in your time I've borrowed I lost you the most
